"It took nine LONG years, but it looks like we are finally back on track!" exclaimed
Sensei.  "We have added another highly qualified and motivated instructor to our
teaching corp to support our promise of excellence.  Senpai Ann has been training
with HSK for 12 years and has been an incredible supporter of HSK and its goals
and objectives."

As many of you know, you must be invited by Sensei to take a dan exam.  He is
the one who knows when you are ready to tackle such an awesome task ... NOT
you!  It's NOT just a matter of talent, it's a matter of how commited you are to sharing
what you know with others!

Senpai Remy has been training for almost 30 years, earning her Shodan in 1991.
She took a break in college and returned with her 5-year old daughter Rylynn in
2012.  She, knowing that taking a dan exam ALONE is as close as one will get to
a "near-death" experience, volunteered to take the exam with Senpai Ann to
show her support!  She also spent countless hours coaching Senpai Ann to prepare
for the exam, helping her perfect her katas, kumite, and self-defense techniques.

"Senpai Remy has been MY link between the Senpais and our members, and has
kept the the communication and comaraderie between both groups strong,"
continued Sensei.  "It is because of her selflessness that I decided to surprise
her with her nidan rank."
