August
6, 2002 Dear
Members, Parents, and Friends: 1. BACK TO SCHOOL--YIPPEEEE!!!
As you all know, August marks the end of yet another fun-filled summer
and, more importantly, the beginning of a new, exciting and challenging school
year. However, along with the
opening of school comes responsibility. Sensei
and your Senpais are depending on all our school-aged children to become role
models and leaders for the rest of your classmates.
Teach others to become a special person like yourself by setting a good
example. Exercise the principles of
the Dojo Kun daily: 1) Seek perfection of character, 2) Be faithful, 3)
Endeavor, 4) Respect others, and 5) Refrain from violent behavior.
At HSK misbehavior and disrespect are not tolerated, whether it be at the
dojo, at home, or at school. We
will be checking on our members and their performance in school through regular
school reports, our first coming about three weeks into September.
As always, HSK will recognize all students who have earned school-wide
awards (HSK Superstars), as well as those students, grades 7 through 12, who
earn a 3.5 or better grade point average each semester (HSK Scholars).
ALWAYS BE THE BEST THAT
YOU CAN BE 2.
