CLUB PARTY September 7, 2024
Wonderful company, amazing pupus and desserts generously donated by our families, fun activities for our keiki, lively line-dancing to get everyone into the party mood, and a yummy dinner buffet to enjoy!! What a PERFECT way to celebrate HSK's 41st anniversary -- AND our first club get-together in SIX YEARS!
To add to the excitement, Sensei presented two of our female warriors with black belt (dan) certificates that they earned by overcoming a brutal exam in August! This was HSK's first dan exam in NINE YEARS!! Welcome, Ann Oda, who has been training for 12 years and is our newest addition to our Senpai teaching corp, and to Senpai Remy, who was promoted to second degree (nidan) black belt for her selfless support and contributions. Senpai Remy has trained for nearly 30 years! She returned to training with 5-year old daughter Rylynn after college, marriage, and starting a family.
Stated Sensei, Senpai Remy's "outstanding effort, spirit, kiai, strong mind, and selflessness permeates throughout the class when she trains! Because of her outgoing and friendly personality, she has been MY link between the Senpais and our members, and has kept the communication and camaraderie between both groups strong!"
Many thanks to ALL who helped to make this an unforgettable night and event!!!
