FOOD DRIVE April, 2023
"AWESOME and AMAZING!" exclaimed Sensei. "Our HSK Ohana is truly a special group of people with a HUGE heart and desire to help others less fortunate. They constantly rise to the occasion when there is need. I am continually amazed at the incredible generosity of our Ohana, and VERY honored to call this group my HSK FAMILY."
This year the Hawaii Food Bank had projected that they would receive approximately $40,000 in donations for 2023. Last month HSK donated $5086.52, more than one-eighth of their expected total! AND ... Because we have TWO food bank drives a year, we MAY end up donating ONE-FOURTH of their projected donations!!
Special thanks to Senpais Alan and Tracy, who kicked off the drive with a jaw-dropping $500 donation!!! Thanks also to beginner Jason Isa (Asher's dad), who not only donated TWICE, but was instrumental in pulling our total past our $5000 goal!
Many thanks to all who helped with HSK's community service project. Those who "missed" the opportunity will get another chance in November.
